Storeroom Supervisor

Stores Supervisor
Supports mill operations and maintenance through supervision of stores inventory services and the receipt and issuance of purchased materials/equipment.  Position will also be responsible for supporting purchasing department by purchasing materials, parts, supplies, services and equipment following established purchasing policies.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead team through ongoing safety improvements and initiatives
  • Continuous improvement of storeroom 5S practices
  • Monitoring SAP to avoid stock outs and inventory inaccuracy
  • Improvement of GMS scores as related to storeroom goals including implementing delivery system
  • Supervise an organization that receives, stores, issues and ships inventoried items and direct buy items
  • Develop direct reports to provide maximum customer service/support
  • Purchase materials and services from suppliers providing best value with consideration to quality, price, contracts, reliability and urgency of need
  • Responsible for maintaining stored items condition and count to support operations & maintenance
  • Identify and implement initiatives for optimizing storeroom inventory value by working with maintenance, other IP facilities, vendors, and various IP organizations.
  • Manages Reclamation of Scrap & Surplus Items & Materials
  • Manages stores equipment/item Repair Program, Consignment Program, and Vendor Managed Inventory Program all as parts of optimizing dollars expended in Stores Inventory Value
  • Identify potential suppliers and issue requests for quotes
  • Identify and implement storeroom management and shipping/receiving best practices
  • Adhere to Global Sourcing and Internal Controls policies including document retention and reporting
  • Participates in the Weekend Duty rotation with Purchasing Department
Key Challenges:
  • Balancing mill needs of Store's inventory with space constraints
  • Supporting overall mill maintenance efficiency and reliability
  • Developing and maintaining a well cross-trained work group
  • Continuous improvement of 5S, inventory management, shipping & receiving and storeroom past practices
  • Supports Global Sourcing initiatives
  • Managing through personnel issues as needed with Union and HR

Knowledge And Experience:
Supervisory/Management Experience
5 Years in Inventory Management or Warehousing Preferred
Procurement Experience Preferred
Effective Written & Verbal Communication Skills
Working Knowledge of MS Office Software
SAP Material Management experience required
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree Required
