Maintenance Manager – Murfreesboro, TN

We currently have an opening for a Maintenance Manager at our Murfreesboro, Tennessee facility.  This facility manufactures corrugated packaging products for local and national customers.
 
We are looking for a motivated individual who is capable of performing a multitude of supervisory functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment.   Our workplace requires leaders who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, customer satisfaction, quality, productivity and engagement of crew members.
 
Background: The Maintenance Supervisor plans and leads the daily activities of the Maintenance Department in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Maintenance. This requires both a focus on leadership as well as the full utilization of information, procedures and methods to positively impact the materials, machines, internal and external customers of the facility.

Key Functions: Ensure the safety and well being of ones self and all of the employees in the manufacturing facility. Identify areas where safety issues could arise and take measures to proactively address the concerns. Participate in weekly, monthly, semi annual and annual safety and environmental audits.  Actively participate on the plant’s Safety Committee. Actively supervises 10-12 employees in the everyday coordination, execution and planning of maintenance efforts.
 
Maintain a good working relationship with the plant management, supervisory staff and hourly employees. Continually communicate in a positive manner.  Conducts oneself in a manner that is reflective of the Company's policies on harassment, discrimination, etc. Actively pursues measures to reduce downtime on production equipment. Identifies opportunities and takes measures to reduce waste. Coordinates initiatives to reduce operating costs. Completes tasks in a timely and organized fashion.

Works with the maintenance staff to develop a Reliability Based program to proactively address equipment issues. Instill a TEAM concept in the work place. Take measures to eliminate manufacturing issues. Plans, schedules and monitors the timely completion of maintenance work orders. Attend workshops to enhance industry knowledge and the capabilities of the plant.
 
Requirements: Five or more years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with proven skills in the areas of electrical, PLC, and computer-controlled equipment. Corrugated industry experience preferred. Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance methods. Demonstrated project management, planning, and organizational skills. Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes. Ability to identify root cause of problems and effectively initiate immediate corrective action to prevent reoccurrence. Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving, analytical, communication skills. Knowledge of computerized maintenance and inventory control systems processes in SAP or similar enterprise software solutions. Working knowledge and ability to utilize personal computers and software. BS/BA in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or similar technical discipline desired.
