$48,000 - $64,000
Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
This position will be in the Specialty Products Ink division, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. The Specialty Products division provides printing inks, printing plates, and related services to flexographic packaging printers, both within International Paper and to outside customers. The in-plant ink technician will provide on-site ink manufacturing and technical service for the Thorofare Retail facility.
 
Key Functions:
 
  • The in-plant ink technician’s function is to perform all technical, manufacturing, and reporting tasks pertaining to ink and printing as required by the facility.  The in-plant also assists the customer with press related issues, maximizing efficiencies related to ink usage or press set up, cost reduction measures, or other issues as the customer requires.
  • Specific key functions are:
  • Color matching and re-matching
  • Blending ink batches for print jobs
  • Press side technical assistance (toning colors, adjusting ink to improve print quality, drying speed, etc.)
  • Maintaining customer ink inventory
  • Re-working old ink
  • Filing ink usage reports and other reports as necessary
  • Attending production meetings and other customer meetings as required
  • Addressing all technical issues as required by customer, such as ink training, ink improvements, cost reductions, etc.
 
The Skills You Will Bring:
  • High School education (or equivalent) required
  • 2-3 years industry experience preferred
  • Excellent press side technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Color matching ability
  • Detail orientation
  • Strong communication skills.  Since heavy customer contact is required, the ability to communicate effectively and in a pleasant manner is essential
  • Excellent computer skills are desirable
  • Positive attitude, willingness to take on special projects, and initiative
