Description:

Dealing with ambiguity, handling multiple priorities and conflict management are highly valued skills required for success.  Technical aptitude and business acumen play an important part in everyday activities.  Detailed data analysis to support the MRO buyers is a key function of this position.  This position is located in Memphis, TN.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of Requests-for-Information (RFI) and Requests-for-Proposal
  • Has a primary role in the analysis and documentation of the RFI and RFP Pricing Data
  • Summarize effectively large amounts of data and information
  • Present findings from sourcing events to Global Sourcing senior leadership
  • Support Deliberate Improvement projects and sustain established projects
  • Assist the department in identifying and analyzing savings opportunities
  • Assist buyers with price verification responsibilities
  • Off-contract spend analysis, documentation and recommendations to increase compliance to contracts.
  • Analyze price changes
  • Learn the corporate sourcing event process
  • Learn the purchasing process
  • Execute price extracts and broadcasts
  • May be assigned as lead buyer in a selected MRO category
  • Train new analysts and interns in the MRO department
  • May require some travel, less than 10% of the time

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel®, Powerpoint®, and Word® is a minimum requirement
  • General business knowledge through a college degree or equivalent work experience is required
  • Knowledge of goods and services being procured is preferred
  • Knowledge of basic product application and function within the facilities through experience and self-study is preferred
  • Experience in Procurement Operations is preferred
  • Work experience in a manufacturing facility is preferred
  • Experience with working in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Effective presentation skills are required
