The Job You Will Perform:
  • Reporting to the Region HR Manager, provide support to one or more manufacturing facilities in the hiring of production and maintenance candidates and make measurable improvements in the areas of recruitment and retention by collaborating with facility HR and local manufacturing teams.
  • Develop a go to market strategy/territory plan for recruitment to include outreach, marketing campaigns and presence at hiring events  
  • Successful candidate will be spending a great deal of time developing leads, prospecting and sourcing qualified candidates; Objective is to support growth of a sustainable talent pipeline of qualified candidates through local relationship building with community colleges, technical schools and high schools; non-profit organizations; community events; and diversity organizations as the primary contact while partnering with business leaders
  • Interaction with all levels of the organization as recruitment and retention of qualified candidates is a key business objective;  Successful candidates will be accountable to interactions, communicating the value of career opportunities with International Paper, successful marketing campaigns, reducing number of vacancies and improving retention
  • Identify gaps in local recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts with the intent of streamlining and improving processes
  • Play a role as the initial contact with candidates to understand their work experience.  Work with local management in instituting work improvements, which positively impact business success, improves the overall employee experience, and increases employee engagement while improving employee retention.
  • Use data to make improvements to the recruitment and retention of qualified candidates
  • Collaborate with other HR professionals in region to provide visibility, share best practices and execute against strategic plan and operating objectives
  • Position involves travel on a weekly basis to other locations within the region to collaborate with business and community leaders/events in the execution of staffing/retention objectives
 
The Position Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years Human Resource experience with demonstrated leadership potential. This role is considered a developmental position in the function and candidates must be willing to relocate for future career opportunities. 
  • Bachelor of Science degree in human resources, business or a related field required.  Human resource experience in a manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Flexibility as it relates to work hours, work location during the week, and the ability and willingness to travel as necessary based on priorities 
  • Experience with talent acquisition/recruitment of manufacturing employees is preferred;   Strategy development, use of data, relationship building, and improving hiring processes
  • Proficient in computer applications (including MS Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
