Risk Analyst

Based in Memphis, IP’s Global Risk Management department is seeking an experienced Risk Analyst to join our team within Treasury.  Our mission is to design and execute risk management programs that effectively protect the assets and earnings of the company globally. In this role, you will be positioned to acquire a broader knowledge of global insurance programs, risk financing, claims management, technology, and loss prevention, to allow for your continued development in the field of risk management.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Supports the renewal and administration of global risk management and insurance programs
  • Provides reports and analysis to various internal and external stakeholders
  • Provides consultation on contractual risk transfer techniques in addition to insurance specific provisions
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners, including corporate staff groups and business units, insurance brokers, and insurers, to promote and enhance global risk management programs and processes
  • Supports the development and implementation of alternative risk financing strategies, including a multi-captive structure
  • Identifies, communicates, and champions process improvement opportunities
  • Serves as an architect and administrator for the department’s technological resources
  • Represents the Global Risk Management group on special projects as required

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business or equivalent field of study
  • 2-5 years of experience in a finance, accounting, business analytics or similar role – Risk Management or Insurance industry experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs with strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access and SharePoint
  • Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, including group presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting, responsibilities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Claims (AIC), or equivalent designation
  • Solid understanding of and experience with fundamental principles of global risk management
  • Experience with information systems such as SAP and SQL databases
  • MBA or similar advanced degree
