The Human Resources Specialist reports to the mill HR Leader and is responsible for the daily activities associated with all HR functions.  Including, but not limited to:

 

  • Provide support to the site’s HR leader and other HR Team Members as needed. 
  • Periodically provide support as needed to the Lead Team Members, Finance, Safety, Operational and Maintenance Departments.
  • Maintain and manage all human resources records for hourly and salaried team members.
  • Responsible for completing electronic I-9 forms and maintaining compliance with I-9 processes.
  • Responsible for conducting all pre-employment screening including background checks and drug screens.
  • Assist in the development of presentation material, correspondence, department mailings and other related items as needed.
  • Champion and support the Mill HR Department with meeting corporate HR Goals through IPCP process, employee education, and effective communication – (ie. Employee Self Service)
  • Lead and support the company’s annual records retention process for all HR records at the mill.
  • Support Mill Labor Relations activities as needed; including grievance research and recording meeting minute notes. 
  • Maintain maintenance of hourly and salaried personnel information in SAP for HR.
  • Conduct employee Informational meetings for salaried and hourly team members regarding benefit changes.
  • Serves as the site’s Leave Administrator and as the mill liaison for Sedgwick CMS.
  • Provides guidance to team members on medical leave of absence guidelines, including eligibility requirements and application process. 
  • Champion the mill’s hourly & salaried recruitment processes and serves as the site lead for the recruitment of all hourly positions.
  • Assist with coordination of logistical activities for candidates (travel arrangements, itineraries).
  • Ensures that the mill is compliant with all legal and corporate recruiting guidelines including all outreach efforts.
  • Coordinates selection processes for hourly and salaried positions including communications with approved staffing agencies, communications with candidates, scheduling of interviews, coordination of job offers, coordination of pre-employment processes & all other processes associated with hiring & selection.
  • Maintains the Affirmative Action Planning system, including maintaining annual logs for internal job postings, hires, terminations, separations, and promotions; completion of the annual AAP.
  • Serves as the site’s Workbrain HR Coordinator and is responsible for maintaining appropriate HR records in the system.
  • Maintains logs for disciplinary action, grievance procedures, shared HR files, and other HR data bases.
  • Processes all unemployment-related claims; participates in any appeal hearings or other activities related to unemployment claims. 
  • Be able to perform all additional activities of other HR Support personnel as backup. 

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years Human Resources experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated Technical Skills (PC)
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft applications
  • Proficiency in SAP and HR/Payroll systems
  • Ability to lead and support change (IPCP)

 

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience recruiting hourly manufacturing talent and managing hourly hiring & selection processes.
  • Experience with SuccessFactor’s recruiting platform or similar recruiting platforms.
