Key Accountabilities:

  • Providing support assistance on medium/high complex Incident/Problem Support Tickets and/or discretionary Project/Enhancement work
  • Assisting with analysis and design, unit testing, go-live and sustain activities through formal Project methodologies
  • Responsible for all aspects of functional process analysis, design, improvement, unit testing, implementation of solutions for new and existing business processes
  • Is instrumental in reviewing, learning and helping mature: Business and Functional Requirements - Technical Specifications - Technical Roadmaps - Work Estimates - Project Scheduling - DR/BC Planning / Exercises - Archiving
  • Being an effective advanced apprentice of ERP and other application systems (e.g. CieTrade, OEI/MRS) best practices, processes, procedures and policies as they are impacted and supported by Packaging Systems Application Management Services
  • Other Duties as Assigned


Key Challenges:

  • Rapid change and increased complexity in technologies and systems that support ERP systems with emphasis on Estimate-To-Cash and/or Manufacturing
  • Delivering business adaptive ERP related IT solutions that are technologically strategic, leading edge market competitive, that are internally viable, sustainable and supportable
  • Appropriately identifying and adopting applicable Industry 4.0 automation and data exchange solutions (cyber-physical systems, Industrial IoT, cloud computing, Box Plant of the Future, cognitive computing, etc.)
  • Globally expanding and interconnected ERP system solutions that are subject to varying and inconsistent geographical, logical, physical, governmental, legal and regulatory restrictions and requirements
  • Heighted security requirements for data/system access and query display related to external customers and vendors, and anti-trust restrictions
  • The internal environment, including interaction with others (both inside and outside the company), policies/practices
  • Supporting various work processes under multiple operating methodologies (PDP, PDP-Lite, AGILE/SCRUM, SDM, Ad-Hoc)
  • Learning and maintaining complex, dynamic and by-site / by-geography unique and specific deployments of interdependent ERP IT solutions across the global company enterprise
  • Maintaining system performance expectations while accommodating significant increases in data volumes/demands across multiple geographies
  • Continuing increases in expectations around the overlap and interface of ERP systems with other IT systems across the global data network (e.g. security/risk)

The work itself, e.g., problems, opportunities, change

  • Sustaining a credible personal portfolio of customer, business and technical knowledge capital in the packaging space (is familiar with the “language” of the business)
  • Accommodating constantly changing Business requirements, priorities, Project portfolio content, Project scopes and general specifications/expectations
  • Effectively accommodating the growing global "demand" for resources in a somewhat cost conscious Shared Services "supply" model
  • Actively supporting the interaction, collaboration and coordination across internal and external customers and partners (maintaining an Enterprise perspective)
  • Actively and effectively supporting teams, Projects and discretionary efforts without direct reporting relationships



  • Supports and helps lead the execution and delivery of the company's largest global operation defined Projects and initiatives that contribute to varying annual financial benefits (multi-millions), and operational effectiveness and efficiency improvements
  • Supports systems for approximately +125 IP facilities globally and +5000 end-users
  • Participates and leads in the 24x7x365 sustain/support operations for availability of the company’s global packaging operations / businesses
  • Helps coordinate direct interaction across multiple global vendors / service providers for development support 


Knowledge and Experience

  • Degree Required: Minimum AA/Technical degree in IT/MIS area or demonstrated work experience equivalent
  • Degree Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in IT or related IT discipline; Post-graduate MBA or business degree a strong plus


  • Well versed in formal ticket processing procedures and working medium/high complex issues with minimal guidance
  • "Application System Delivery Lifecycle" competent
  • Demonstrates a "high" degree of IT technical knowledge
  • Experience and knowledge of ERP application systems
  • Understands critical application/infrastructure success factors
  • Works effectively within a team (team player)
  • Works well in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Experience in an environment with 100+ installations
  • Understands business processes and information needs
  • 5+ years
  • Project Management Methodologies
  • Usage of Microsoft Project Application
  • 3+ years
  • SCRUM/AGILE Methodologies
  • Familiar with performing Unit testing and Change Management
  • Object Oriented Programming and Methodologies
  • Functional Knowledge of SQL Server Tools and basic query capabilities

Incremental Preferred:

  • Knowledgeable in a proven project methodology process
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Professional (PMP)

Organizational Relationship:

  • Position is located in Memphis, TN
  • Position resides in Application Services Packaging Systems and reports to Recycling (REC) IT Manager
  • Recycling (REC) IT Manager reports to the Sr. Manager II, Packaging Systems
  • Sr. Manager, Packaging Systems repots to the Director, Application Services



  • 10% annual travel expected – varies by role
  • This position may interface with multiple levels of IT and Business Partners and should have the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form at each level
