OVERVIEW: This is a full-time exempt 2nd Shift position and reports to the Manufacturing Manager at the Indianapolis Retail Packaging and Display plant. The Corrugator Supervisor provides leadership and coordinates daily activities of the 2nd shift corrugator department.
The Corrugator Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees in the safe daily operation of the corrugator, to include training, planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; promoting teamwork; and resolving conflicts. The Supervisor will lead and motivate employees to work efficiently and effectively, while ensuring a safe work environment, a quality product, and a satisfied customer; improve and maintain department performance according to set objectives and established goals including safety, quality, waste reduction, housekeeping and productivity. Ensure compliance on quality checks; coordinate upkeep of machinery with Maintenance team to minimize downtime; and assist in troubleshooting machine problems. The Supervisor will ensure crews have all items needed for daily operations. Actively communicates with converting and looks for ways to improve the “internal customer” concept. Seeks feedback on corrugated sheets and uses this information for continuous improvement on the corrugator. Other activities as assigned. This is a second shift position (3:00 – 11:00 p.m.) with overlap before and after shift.
Three to five years supervisory experience in the corrugated industry required; college degree (Associate’s or higher) desirable. Technically sound with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve quality and productivity problems; experience with micro-flutes. Strong participative leadership skills; effective planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills; proven supervisory skills in a non-union manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to conduct and facilitate effective meetings. Strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and computer skills. Must exhibit a high regard for safe use and condition of equipment. A positive attitude is required.
